Emirates News Agency – Arabian Travel Market launches 2022 Exhibitor Awards

DUBAI, 29th March, 2022 (WAM) — Exhibitors at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022 will be pulling out all the stops to show off their creativity and business savvy at this year’s ATM Best Stand Awards 2022.

The awards will recognize the creative design, people skills and commercial appeal of exhibiting companies’ stands during the annual showcase to be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from May 9-12, 2022.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Manager ME, Arabian Travel Market, said: “Arabian Travel Market wouldn’t be the huge success that it is without the incredible amount of effort and investment that went into creating and the management of exhibitors’ stands at the show”.

This year, the five categories will be Best Booth Design, Best Booth for Doing Business, Best Booth Functionality, Best New Booth, Best Booth at ATM Travel Tech, and People’s Choice Award.

Judging will take place on Day 2 of the show (Tuesday, May 10), and the winners will be announced the following day. The panel includes journalists and industry speakers, such as Paul Clifford, Group Editor of ITP Hospitality and Philip Wooller, MEA Regional Director of global hotel research firm STR.

“With over 2,000 exhibiting companies spread across 10 exhibit halls, the judging panel will have plenty of ground to cover,” Curtis added.

The criteria for the Best Stand Design award focus on identifying an eye-catching stand with a creative design that makes the best use of available space. It must also appear inviting from a visitor’s perspective and have an outstanding presence in the lobbies, attracting a high level of visitor traffic.

For the Best Stand to Do Business award, the judging panel will be looking for a lively B2B atmosphere and a well-thought-out, easy-to-navigate layout with a good presentation of the stand and its services.

The Best New Booth award recognizes attendees making their ATM debut this year. Judges will be looking for a creative stand that makes the best use of available space and has an exceptional presence in the room, and that is inviting and engaging from a visitor’s perspective.

The final prize is the best booth within ATM Travel Tech, which highlights the importance of technology to the industry and rewards technology-focused exhibitors.

Once the winners are selected, they will be voted on by the public for the chance to walk away with the coveted People’s Choice Award. Calls for votes will be launched via social networks and the winner will be announced on Thursday 12 May. All results will be shared with a global audience via ATM’s social media platforms.

Now in its 29th year and working in conjunction with the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), formerly the Department of Tourism and Trade Marketing (DTCM), the points ATM show highlights in 2022 will include, among others, a destination summit focusing on the key source market of India and Saudi Arabia.

Previously called Travel Forward, the revamped and rebranded ATM Travel Tech event will take place on the ATM Travel Tech stage, hosting seminars, debates, presentations and the first ATM Draper-Aladdin startup competition.

ATM will once again play a vital role in Arabian Travel Week, a festival of events for travel professionals from around the world to collaborate and shape the recovery of the travel industry in the Middle East through exhibitions , conferences, information breakfasts, awards, product launches and networking events.

The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has endorsed its handling of the pandemic, awarding the city a “Safe Travels” stamp.
