The Fall Flyer Train at Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is truly exceptional
There’s no better way in Ohio to enjoy the fall foliage than taking a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
The railroad offers a variety of trains throughout the year, including the incredibly popular North Pole Adventure, but their Fall Flyer is one of a kind. As it travels through Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the train takes passengers through breathtaking vistas of fall colors.
The train journey takes about two hours. Trains depart on Saturdays at 9.45am and 1.30pm from Rockside Station in Independence and Sundays at 11.30am and 3.30pm from Akron Northside Station. Tickets for the train cost $ 20 to $ 30, depending on the seat class you choose.
Speaking of tickets, if you’re in the mood for a truly exceptional experience, pay the extra $ 10 and reserve a seat in the Upper Dome observation cars. The views are breathtaking, and the dome-shaped car allows you to see the sites in all directions.
In the vicinity of the national park you will find tons of fun restaurants, bars and unique accommodation. Masks are compulsory for all passengers when traveling by train. You can read more about Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad’s COVID-19 policies here.
Tickets for train rides at CSV Railroad tend to sell out quickly, so if you want to book a ride on the Fall Flyer, you can visit their website here.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park is located a short distance from Cleveland and Akron, but you’ll feel like you’re on different worlds.
