passed away at his home in Richland on Wednesday. August 21, 1996. Tom was born March 16, 1916 to Charles and Sarah Logston of Washington, West Virginia. Tom was married to Mary Virginia Allen from December 25. 1936 to July, 1981, the time of her death.

Tom served in the Navy during WWII in the Amphib's LSM103 and saw action in the Pacific. Tom was the first 3-term mayor of Richland and then retired to travel. During that time, he spent much time 111 Washington, D.C.. and Olympia meeting with Senators Magnuson and Jackson when the freeway sys tem was in the planning stages. He also spent much time in pur chasing land around Richland for future city use such as the Horn Rapids area.

He was an ardent pro moter of the conception of the Horn Rapids Golf Course and residential area in the 80's and of the Richland Industrial Park and was honored by the naming of Logston Blvd. Tom also was a member of the Masons. Shriners. Scottish Rites, Elks and Rotary. He was a charter member of the Shriner's Desert Patrol, past president of the Good Road's Assn.

1957 in Three Rivers, Michigan, to Charles and Jeanette Salter. Katherine and Jeffhad been married for 13 years. She was a member of the Pasco Eagles Club. She also was a volunteer worker at the Washington Elementary School P.T.A. and Park Middle School Band Department.

Kathy has fought courageously for the last 12 years of her life to live her life to the fullest. She enjoyed participating in her children's school activities. Kathy will be dearly missed. 1996 at the age of 90. Kenneth was born in Dumont. Iowa. on July 19. 1906.

His family moved to Spokane in 1912 where Ken graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1925. After working for Diamond Match and the Fidelity National Bank, he entered Whitworth College. graduating in 1931 with a BS in chemistry. In 1937. he married Margaret Jamison.

He taught school for many years in Inchelium, Wellpinit and Omak, and then worked for the Applied Physics Laboratory at the University of Washington. In 1947, he went to work for the Atomic Energy Commission at Han ford, where he worked in nuclear waste disposal for more than 20 years. After retiring in 1971. he and Margaret moved back to Spokane. where they lived until her death in 1986.

In 1988. he moved to Exeter House in Seattle. Ken was a avid reader and was a scholar of Pacific Northwest history. He enjoyed photography and volun teered at Cheney Cowles Museum in Spokane, where he photographed and helped archive some of the museum's collection. While living 111 Richland.

he served as church school superinten dent and leader of adult classes at Central United Church. During his retirement in Spokane, he was active at Whitworth Community Presbyter ian Church and a member of the Spokane Corral Westerners. Ken is survived by three daugh ters. Eleanor Krystad, and her hus band, Jack of Seattle. Barbara Stuart of Olympia and Kathryn Thorndike and her husband.
